Root Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 on XXLPJ Android ICS 4.0.3

We just had an article on XXLPJ for Samsung Galaxy S2 and now we are back with another article on rooting Samsung Galaxy S2 on XXLPJ and doing this is real easy and this update will root as well as install ClockWorkMod recovery in your Galaxy S2. Galaxy S2 owners who are on XXLPJ Android ICS 4.0.3 can easily root and get clockworkmod recovery. All you need to do is follow few steps and you are good to go. So in this article we will talk about how you can do that without any problem.

Disclaimer and Prerequisites

Well to inform you well in advance that rooting voids the warranty of your phone and you will not be able to avail free 1 year warranty on your Galaxy S2 so do this at your own risk.

There are few things which you need to follow and they are as follows,

Your galaxy S2 needs to be charged at least 60%.

it should be tried on Samsung galaxy S2 i9100 and no other phone and trying this on other phone might brick your device.

You also need to have USB debugging enabled and you may do that by referring to below image,

You need to go to settings and then wireless networks < USB setting and then select ASK ON CONNECTION.

Download ROM and file

 

Download Odin 1.83 v from here.

Download the cf-root kernel from here.

Root Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 on XXLPJ Android ICS 4.0.3

  • Now first of all you need to download the file from above and unzip it and you will have a .tar file and remember that you need not unzip this .tar file.
  • Now get in to download mode and this can be done by first switching off your phone and once it is off then press volume down, home and power button together and very soon your Galaxy S2 will get in to download mode.
  • Now open Odin which you have downloaded from above and connect your phone to computer via USB cable.
  • In PDA select CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPJ-v5.3-CWM5.tar and then auto reboot and f reset time will be ticked and do not click any other device.
  • Now click on start and wait for this to get over and once this is done your Galaxy S2 will reboot and then your phone will be rooted with Clockworkmod installed on it.
