How to Root Sony Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Active ,Live on 4.0.2.A.0.62
After the 4.0.2.A.0.62 on Sony Xperia devices every one is talking about rooting Sony Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Arc and Xperia Arc S, Xperia Live and every one in forum, Yahoo answers, google forums talking about rooting on 4.0.2.A.0.62 update. Doing this is really easy as all you need to have unlocked bootloader and then update a kernel which is pre-rooted and your Xperia Mini, Mini pro,Mini Pro, Active and Xperia Live will be rooted in no time. Prerequisites
You need to have Unlocked bootloader which you may get from here. Just go here and get unlocked bootloader for your device.

You also need to have ROM series of 4.0.2.A.0.48/52/61/62
Once you make sure you have all these things with you then you are good to root your Sony Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Active and Xperia Live on 4.0.2.A.0.62.

First of all download the file from here which is a boot file and extract this to your desktop and it will look like this.
then download the files and then place the boot.img to same folder,
Download Kernel v2.4 from here for Xperia mini pro
Download kernel v2.4 from here for Xperia mini
Download Kernel v2.4 for live walkman from here
download Kernel v2.4 for xperia active from here

Now click on flash and execute it and then switch off your phone and then press volume up button and connect it to your PC via USB cable.
If you used KRsH Kernel before, you also need to restore /system/lib/modules/ with stock files.
While booting, press continuously the volume down button to enter recovery.

I think I bricked my device (SK17i)
It stops on the SE logo, I didn’t do the very last step:
“While booting, press continuously the volume down button to enter recovery.”
I mean… I’ve tried it without connecting to PC :/

I just solved it, yet thanks.
The model is SK17i (mini pro) with .62FW, the kernel in this tutorial is probably wrong, may be for other devices.
I flashed with a kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440161 and it works well (root).
Note that this kernel’s size is ~6MB when the one in the tutorial is ~4MB

Thank you very very much Abhishek. You have done a very very very great job. I used the boot.img file (4mb) from xda developers and It did all wrong to my xperia mini pro. Phone not connected to wifi and also unable to connect in mtp mode. while searching on google to resolve this problem I found yours and I used the boot.img file (6.44mb) provided by you. And all tensions released. Now my phone is able to connect to wifi and also able to connect in mtp mode. Once again thank you very very very much for such a great service.
